I started working on Sleep Huggers Inc.
in the spring of 2002. My youngest was just about a year old and my oldest was 4. Oh,
and there was also one in the middle, aged 2. I'm not sure what made me think
that starting a business with three little boys aged 4 and under would be a good
idea, maybe a complete lack of sleep, but that's what I did.
One night, while watching one
of my boys fast asleep in a sleep sack which I had received as a gift from
family in Europe, I realized that this one item had made bedtime so much easier
for us as a family. My boys were always cozy and warm while sleeping and I never
had to worry about any loose blankets. I tried to find more of these great
little sleep sacks to give as gifts at baby showers, but at the time they were
practically unheard of in North America, and what could be found looked cheaply
made and not fit to go on any baby I knew.

After months and months of
research, product development, and late, late sleepless nights, I officially opened the
doors to Sleep Huggers Inc. with a sole vision of creating the safest, most
durable sleep sack available.
